Call for Volunteers Goong-ee Doong-ee

Who are the Goong-ee Dong-ees?

"Goong-ee Doong-ee" means "people closely related to the palace" They communicate closely with the citizens who visit the palace. It's the nickname of the volunteers of the K-Royal Cultural Festival who lead the festival site.

  ○ Number of Recruitment : About 50 persons(including 10 non-Koreans quota)

    - Thursday, 5th Sep 2024, 17:00KST : Announce results of application screening

    - Thursday, 5th Sep- Sunday, 8th Sep 2024, 23:00KST : Video interview submission (online interview)

    - Friday, 13th Sep 2024, 17:00KST : Announce final results

3. Activity Schedule and Details

  ○ Activities : Provide support for the festival programs' on-site operations, Plan and lead creative activities (team planning)

    - General : Provide support for the festival programs' on-site operations

    - Team program : Plan and lead creative programs to introduce visitor's interest and participation * Develop palace activities, and use skills and abilities to plan creative activities

  ○ opening ceremony location : Korea Press Center (124 Sejong-daero, Jung-gu, Seoul | City Hall Station lines 1 and 2)

4. Eligibility and Application

  ○ Eligibility

    - At least 18 years old, Korean citizen (and foreigners who can communicate in Korean) * Must be responsible for their own accommodation during the period

    - Must participate in major events, such as the opening ceremony, and must be able to actively participate during the festival period

    - (Preferred) Have foreign language communication skills (English, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, etc.)

    - Online submission - Fill out Google Form application : Check out the application link in bio or K-Royal Culture, the Korea Heritage Service, and the Korea Heritage Agency homepages.

      • Video Interview (Round 2): Online video evaluation

        * applicants that have passed Round 1 will be contacted individually for further instructions

5. Volunteer's Benefits

  ○ Approved volunteer hours (hours depend on each person's on-site participation)

      * Must join 1365 Volunteer Portal (https://www.1365.go.kr)

  ○ Volunteer certification issued (must meet certification requirement; certification issued by President of Korea Heritage Agency)

  ○ Activity supply kits for K-Royal Culture Festival volunteers.

  ○ Free admission to Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace, Deoksugung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, and Jongmyo Shrine during festival period (admission is non-transferable)

  ○ Limited transportation expenses and meals are provided during on-site (offline) activity period.

  ○ Eligible to be selected and awarded Excellent Volunteer.

  ○ Official volunteer documents can be issued for college students participating during the week
